About Us

The future of real estate
is here — and CREUA
is at the center of it all!

The Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis (CREUA) is the hub for real estate education and community at the George Washington University. Our mission is to provide an exceptional undergraduate real estate education that is rigorous and interdisciplinary, enriched by experiential learning through an active and generous network of real estate alumni and professionals. We empower students with the leadership skills necessary to positively impact their communities, our industry, and the future of the built environment.

A Unique Experiential Academic Program

CREUA provides students with:

  • A fifteen-credit undergraduate concentration in real estate for students at the GW School of Business (GWSB)
  • A minor in real estate for undergrads at other GW schools

Our classes are taught by industry experts with extensive hands-on real estate experience, who utilize our location in one of the most dynamic real estate markets in the U.S. Our program is designed to ensure that our students are “market-ready” upon graduation.

Location, Location, Location!

The first rule of real estate is location, and GW and CREUA’s location is hard to beat. You’re truly in the heart of D.C. at GW University.

  • Our campus is just blocks away from the White House and steps away from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
  • Many real estate firms and national trade association headquarters are either within walking distance or a short Metro ride from campus, providing you with a myriad of opportunities to get to know real estate professionals while you are pursuing your education.

Networking and Mentorship Opportunities

CREUA engages with a large network of GW alumni and other professionals. Alumni mentor students either through our yearlong Real Estate and Finance Alliance mentorship program or individual sessions. The Commercial Real Estate Network (CREN) hosts speakers and panelists and conducts site visits and hard hat tours during the academic year.

"The real estate program at GW has allowed me to explore many different real estate businesses, through clubs, programs, and exploratory classes. This exploration has allowed me to narrow down the areas I would like to work in and take classes to help me build the skills and knowledge base needed for those fields. "
