Karen Zinn

In her role as Associate Vice President for Real Estate at the George Washington University, Ms. Zinn is responsible for strategy and management of over $1.1B in investment real estate assets as well as institutional real estate. Prior to joining GW in 2018, Ms. Zinn was Principal of KZB Advisors, a consulting practice specializing in working with Colleges, Universities, and other non-profit institutions to improve their real estate and business & auxiliary operations through effective team leadership, financial and transaction management, analytics, strategic planning, and process improvement. With over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate development and management and over 25 years working directly with university real estate and facilities departments, Ms. Zinn brings a business-based approach to implementing mission-driven real estate and other strategic initiatives. Ms. Zinn is a Member of the Counselors of Real Estate. Counselors are prominent real estate practitioners recognized for their expertise, experience, and ethics in providing advice that influences real estate decisions. The CRE designation acknowledges a member’s status as one of the most trusted professionals in the field of real estate.
